Wait I'm gonna be selling knives?

So this past Sunday I was searching through the Washington Post for a desperately needed job. You see I already have a job at this pizza shop in Gainesville called Pizza Margherita but the problem is that they are only giving my 6 hours of work a week......6 HOURS. I'm sorry but I can't survive on 6 hours a week when I am due to go to California in less than three weeks-I need money and I need it FAST. So an ad caught my eye, SUMMER JOB, looking for COLLEGE students, $17/hour, flexible hours. I was like YES please. So I called the number and was greeting by an old childhood friend, Ashley Furr. She attended my old church and I hadn't talked to her in about 6 years, such a crazy coincidence. So she informed me of the job with VECTOR marketing, she said I would be a customer rep., answering any questions the customers might have and helping them place orders. So I thought I was looking at an office job, answering phones and things like that....WRONG! Ashley got me an interview for the next afternoon at 4. When I arrived there were about 6 students waiting to be interviewed. I took a seat and filled out my application and was then greeted by the manager. So I was expecting an old fat 50 something year old to greet me...WRONG again, this guy was maybe 22 if not younger and he was not a typical head manager type to say the least. He took me back to his office with another student interviewee and asked us maybe 5 or so questions. He then invited us both to join in the group portion of the interview. We were taken to a room where about 12 students were waiting to begin the group portion of the interview. He went over a 45 minute long presentation. Explained the job and what it entailed.

1. It's selling knives, like CUTCO knives.
2. You get $17 per appointment, so it's not technically $17 dollars an hour, it like if I did 20 appointment in a week I would make $340 for that week.
3. My first 5 appointments are with people I'm comfortable with, they then give me 5 recommendations of people who would be interested in seeing the product and then I call those people and set up more appointments that way. So it's up to me how much money I earn in a week. And when I can so appointments

So needless to say, I got the job but I'm kinda uneasy about it, I have training on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and then I can start earning money. What do you think?? I'd love your input!
