Who needs chocolates when you can collect trees?

Hey guys, sorry this is a day late:( I was exhausted last night so I'm posted twice today!!

HAPPY BELATED VALENTINES DAY!!

I've never been a huge fan of valentines day, I loved getting them from all my classmates in elementray school and having parties instead of class, but once you hit middle school its all about whether or not you have a valentine.

So I headed out to Target to get Brandi's Valentine (a tradition of ours that started Freshman year). It was chaos, traffic was crazy and everyone was picking up some last minute valentines..I almost hit like three people and two cars trying to back out of the store-rough!

I then headed over to the aroboretum (our school's garden/park). It's service week for SAO and the project for today was to help out the staff of the aroboretum. We were seperated into two groups and headed off into the forest to help pick up fallen branches and limbs. It was fun and it felt good to do something for the school. I took a lot of crazy pictures and got to move a tree limb that was probably five times the size of me:)-with the help of my lovely sisters of course! After we were finished, I took Brittany and Steph D back to my house and we just hung out until I had to work at 545. Work was ok, I was in the dishroom:/ Not my favorite, but hey they were nice enough to give everyone a valentine after our shifts<3

When I arrived home, Brandi was waiting to watch the Valentines GLEE episode we had recorded. I watched that and then did some homework before bed.

All in All I'd say I had a great valentines day, true that it wasn't filled with romantic dinners or roses but I spent the day with people I love. What more could I ask for?

This is what happens usually every night at the Fishbowl:)

Bonding&&Baking

Hello All:)

Woke up for classes today, went to my first two and decided that I'd rather stay in TDU and hang out with people then go to Medical Spanish class, so that's what happened. Yep, I'm a pretty bad Medical Spanish student but honestly, I can teach myself the material better than my teacher-seriously....

So while in TDU I had a bonding/deep chat and got to catch up with a bunch of people! I was joined by Jenn,Nancy, Steph D, Nicole, Brittany, Kirsten, Ginger, and Jess. I kinda crashed the PR committees meeting, upon their request of course, it was fun to work on that committee again, I thought I'd never miss it-wrong!

Monday's are Rachel and My Big/Little dinner date nights so I headed off to Top Dog (our usually spot) for some bonding time with her. We of course talked about the Hunger Games again-she just finished the series today, exactly an hour before we met, so we analyzed the books a bit. I have to admit that I'll never get sick of talking about them-it's sick but at least I know that I'm obsessed. We were joined by Brittany a little later-I love this girls stories, shes so animated:)

I went to the Library and made V-Day cards for some soldiers and found this amazing verse that to me sums up the Perfect Valentine:

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

I closed out the night with our weekly exec. meeting, we prayed over all the prayer requests of our beloved sisters. I absolutely love doing this, it allows me to feel more connected to them and more in tune with the Lord. Court, Bran, and I tuned into the last hour of the bachelor and I started Baking Chocolate Chip COOKIES! I haven't baked in so long, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. We watched SMASH and currently, we're finishing up the new episode of The Voice. I love the banter between the judges-it's what makes the show.

The cookies turned out delicious and I believe that I've eaten about four already:/ Guilty Pleasure anyone?

Explanation: this was actually taken yesterday but Bran's legs look like the little mermaid:)

This one was for taylor...yup one of her obsessions aka her Future Hubby and he was on my Breakfast-go figure

The joy that is TDU

Loved that this was a coffee called "Blonde" so had to snap a pic of it:)

Cookies:)

Happy Official Valentine's Day everyone!

Sisters and Love

Hello All!

So my day was another one of those fabulous ones where all you do is be with the people you love! The bonus of it was that I even got my homework done;)

Ok so I woke up to get ready for church. I've been attending RISE for about a month and a half, the pastor is amazing and I feel like I'm learning more about God. I'm find myself seeking him more because of this church, I love it! Today was extra exciting because my little, Jess, sang a solo with the band and she was AMAZING! I had never heard her sing and I have to tell you, that girl has a voice.

After church I headed over to E-hall for brunch with Brandi, Taylor, Rachel, Jess, Jenn, Hannah Flanders, Hayley(Jenn's housemate) and Chip(Rachel's friend from home). We had  a lovely brunch with great food, it had been awhile since I had gotten to eat for more than 15 minutes there so that was nice.

We went to Carrier to start making Valentine's Day Cards for one of Harrisonburg's nursing homes, Sunnyside. There was about 12 of us and we made a lot of cards, like 25 or something-it was crazy. All of them were beautiful. I stayed in Carrier a little while after that with Hannah and Sarah to finish up some homework. I went on to the Fishbowl and made dinner before our weekly SAO meeting.

The meeting was probably one of the fastest ones we've ever had, it was only 35 minutes-NEW RECORD:winning! Anyway, after that we had an exec. interest meeting for the sisters who were interested in running for next years exec. I've been thinking a lot about handing over my position. It's gonna be hard to just hand over, I've kind of considered it my child over the past two years. I'm trying to work with God on that one, the ability to be able to let go, but whenever I start to think about it, I get scared. I know that God is in control and whoever becomes the next VP will be exactly where God wants them to be in SAO. I'm  comforted by the fact that I'll be here next year to see the new exec. find their places in SAO. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, I guess you could say that it'll be bittersweet:/
Upon arriving home we found Simba (kind of our new house cat) waiting at the door and then turned on the Grammy's, which is what I've been watching for about three hours now. The performances are a little odd **Nicki Minaj anyone? But I'm a sucker for awards shows:)

And the Valentine's festivities begin<3

We have some pretty artistic people in this sorority:)

Oh dear Kaitlyn, I do love this crazy girl!

I decided to try a new Tea Latte today, thanks to Rachel for the suggestion, it was so yummy!

Hannah's guilty brownie-eating face:)

Great show, with a hint of weird...

Until next time,

Obsessions + Mounds of Homework=Fail

Good evening!!

So I didn't think to carry my camera around with me all day so the few pictures I do have will have to suffice:/ I have to remind myself to make sure I have that thing with me!

Alright so quick rundown:
I got up and worked at the lovely E-hall this morning for the first time in a week due to my annoying ailment! I was assigned the produce (aka salad) station and I forgot how much effort it takes to stand for four straight hours. By the time my shift was over, my shoulders and back were killing me. Props to all who waitress or stand on their feet for eight hours at a time!

When I arrived back at the Fishbowl (my townhouse) I had an exec. meeting that was supposed to last only an hour-well with us that never happens, so it took us two hours but hey that's improvement:) I had loads of homework to attend to but instead I texted my little, Rachel and asked her if she wanted to grab some dinner. I met her at Dukes and we talked about the Hunger Games for about an hour-yup I am officially OBSESSED! I already knew this but I think it just got worse because I can talk about it with other people who are becoming just as equally obsessed as me (thank you Holly, Taylor, and Kirsten). It's fine or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I decided to finally sit down and do some homework and that's pretty much all I've been doing since then. I may have had a few minor distractions with Pinterest but hey I felt artsy!

P.S. I'm currently researching traditional Japanese Exercises-part of the "mound" of homework that I'm supposed to be doing right now- and this is just a little something I stumbled upon, Enjoy!

 Yup....this is me.....procrastinating

  Introducing....My new Best Friends<3

First Timers and Spa Adventures

Ok guys, so my day was interesting....

I woke up for my first class, HTH 100, oh the joys of being in a freshman centered class once again:) After, I had my FIRST VISIT EVER at the Health Center for this annoying cold/virus/whatever this thing is. The nurse told me that I needed an inhaler and to take behind the counter Sudafed (aka miracle pills)-those babies are amazing. I then sat in TDU for about 15 minutes by myself when I was then joined by Taylor-we discussed Hunger Games(we're a little obsessed) and then grabbed lunch. I headed off to SAO Bible Study led by the wonderful Stephanie Dawkins, it was about Rebekah and was awesome! My next stop was to the clubhouse to make some things for the Prayer Night coming up and then Bran and I headed to CVS so I could pick up my medicine. She was craving a Chipotle Salad so we both got some Chipotle and went back home to watch glee!

I suggested that we go get pedicures, since I still owed her one for her Christmas present and hadn't given it to her yet. We decided to go to this new salon called "Model Nail Spa", it was it's Grand Opening so everything was 20% off-winning:) We picked out colors (semi-valentines like) and then walked over to the foot baths. There was only one employee on duty and he was in the middle of finishing a women's french manicure so he had turned on the foot baths and just left them on....well we went to sit down and were just chatting for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden Bran goes "Oh My Gosh, the bath it's overflowing, what do I do, Hannah I don't know how to turn this off! What, help!?!" Meanwhile the one employee is still occupied with doing the women's nails and I'm trying to yell for him to come over and turn the water off. After about a minute of yelling he finally rushes over. By the time he reaches the tub, water is covering half of the newly opened salon and apparently they haven't taken the time to invest in a mop! So as I try to contain my laughter and Bran is apologizing over and over, the poor employee is on his hands and knees mopping up the water with two handtowels....
These are the times when I wish I was in a reality TV show that could capture all these crazy and hilarious moments that seem to occur on the most random days.

So after that disaster, we proceeded to get our pedicures and then head home to watch more glee. We finished the night out with watching "Life As We Know It". All in All an exciting and unforgettable day.

The scene of the "flooding" incident:)

Highly recommended btw, it's amazing inside

 Our Valentines-Like colors<3

There's no one else that I'd want to have spent my day with

It's moments like today that I live for, the moments where you can look back on and just be at peace with where you were, who you were with, and what you were doing. I don't know what I'd do without these moments, I've been blessed to have many of them over the years and I hope there are many more that I have yet to experience.

Sincerely,
Han

One day at a Time

So I've been thinking, I've wanted to start this project for some time but haven't remembered or made an excuse not to.

Here's the layout:

One post a day for a year, documented in pictures and words of what my day consists of.

365 posts
Probably close to 4,000 pictures (averaging 10 pictures a day)
365 days

Hang in tight, this road may not be all beautiful, all my days aren't full of excitement and love. SO if some days there's only one picture of I don't know, my computer, you'll know it was just one of those days.

I hope you'll join me on this road of adventure, here goes nothing....
